Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Stackwriter ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
Personal Data: When you register for an account, we may collect personally identifiable information, such as your name and email address.
Photos and Videos: The App collects the photographs and videos you take or upload using the camera feature, along with associated metadata (e.g., timestamps, geolocation tags if enabled). These photos and videos are used exclusively for job site documentation and team collaboration purposes.
Audio Recordings: The App may collect audio recordings you create for job site documentation purposes.
Usage Data: We may collect information on how the App is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This may include your device's Internet Protocol address, browser type, and other diagnostic data.
Cookies and Tracking Data: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our App and hold certain information.
3. Device Permissions and How We Use Them
Camera Permission
Why we need it: Stackwriter requires access to your device's camera to enable you to capture photos and videos for job site documentation. This is a core feature of our App that allows you to document work progress, site conditions, and project milestones.
How we use it:
- The camera permission is used solely to capture photos and videos within the App
- We do not access your existing photos or videos without your explicit action
- Camera access is only active when you are actively using the camera feature within the App
- We do not record or monitor your camera usage outside of the App
When permission is requested: Camera permission is requested when you first attempt to use the camera feature. You can deny this permission, but doing so will limit your ability to use the core photo documentation features of the App.
Photo Library Permission
Why we need it: To allow you to select existing photos from your device to upload to job sites, and to save photos captured within the App to your device's photo library (if you choose to do so).
How we use it:
- Read access: To let you select photos from your gallery to upload to job documentation
- Write access: To save photos you capture within the App to your device (only if you explicitly choose to save them)
Audio Recording Permission
Why we need it: To enable you to record audio notes for job site documentation.
How we use it:
- Audio recordings are created only when you explicitly initiate a recording within the App
- Recordings are stored securely and associated with specific job documentation
- We do not record audio in the background or without your knowledge
Contacts Permission
Why we need it: To help you quickly find and invite team members by matching contacts in your device.
How we use it:
- We only access contacts when you explicitly choose to invite team members
- Contact information is used solely for team invitation purposes
- We do not store your contacts on our servers
4. How We Store Your Photos and Videos
Storage Location: All photos and videos captured or uploaded through the App are stored securely using Appwrite cloud storage services. Data is stored in secure, encrypted cloud servers.
Storage Duration: Your photos and videos are retained for as long as your account is active and the associated job or project exists. You can delete photos and videos at any time through the App, which will permanently remove them from our servers.
Access Control:
- Photos and videos are only accessible to authorized team members associated with your organization
- Access is controlled through role-based permissions within your organization
- We do not share your photos or videos with third parties except as described in Section 5
Security Measures:
- All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols
